- There is plenty of presidence for this. Kang and Kodos weren't always fee either. It's not a big deal. You just paid to enjoy it longer.
- jukan00New SpectatorHey who knows, maybe they'll quietly refund you something...
A few times now I've gotten random donuts for no apparent reason. This summer I logged in one day and had 40 extra donuts and I have no idea why. :D
To be honest EA can be very generous at times. OP if you were to email them they might actually refund you.
I paid for the House of Evil and I'm not worried about it but I support your right to "get yours". - Sometimes things are cheaper than other times. Sometimes in your favour, sometimes against. You've got a ton of free content that new players will have to buy.

This is like when a new iPhone comes out: some people pay 800 to be the first to have it. That same iPhone a year or two later will be given out free to a new customer of a phone company. Do you think the people who paid 800 get refunded ? No. You paid for it using donuts to be the first to get it. Now it is old and outdated and they recycled it. Happens all the time.
Where can I buy a phone with donuts?- https://media.giphy.com/media/sLNFqdD4r92bC/giphy.gif

Hey there players,
It's really cool for every player that has been gifted the House Of Evil. For free.
However, a lot of other long term players including myself have paid 45 donuts for this limited premium building in 2013 and 2014.
A donut refund would be the most logical solution in my opinion. EA doesn't agree. I need to collect some information or users with the same problem to prove it's unfair to long-term players that already put a lot of dough in the game.
Anyway, please comment if:
a) you've gotten a (donut) refund for an item that was previously premium
b) are having the same issue/complaint
c) got donuts back after a complaint
d) have something related on your mind
Look it that way, everybody has profit at some point in this game even you, so think on that and you feel good about it.
You win some, you lose some...
I for 1 are happy for all the players who profit on it, the more new players = the longer TSTO existed.- jukan00New Spectator

That is a really good point! - Refund or not? My answer is "not". I wanted to buy it last year :( .
- There are several instances of this occurring in TSTO in the past, most of which have been mentioned here. Also, the OP is correct in stating that EA had processed refunds for these items in the past, so there is a precedence established as well. Of course, many other people also have compained about not receiving any refund at all.
Anyway, I wanted to comment because I did experience this with the small islands during Xmas last year. I also created a topic on the forum on this and made several posts. I was one of the fortunate ones who did receive a refund for the islands I purchased. But I do think there are a few differences between the islands, what some on the forum dubbed "islandgate", and this current issues with the House of Evil. As another poster mentioned, the time difference is a major factor. The House of Evil was bought for donuts either last year, or the year before. Whereas the islands were purchased for donuts only a couple days to a week before they were given away for free. In regards to the refunds on the box of fireworks for the 4th of July or the Wailing Wall from Halloween, the same thing applies. Those refunds were within a few weeks of the items changing from premium to freemium.
The other difference is entirely unique to the individual. But I do believe that your experience with EA's customer service is different depending upon how much money you've spent with them on donuts. If you are a strictly freemium player, who grinds away collecting free donuts to make your purchases, then they are much less likely to work with you on a refund or compensation. However, if you have made several donut purchases, then I personally believe that EA is more apt to work with you to keep you as a satisfied customer. Just my personal opinion. - bluyoshi88810Seasoned NewcomerIf it was free the first time around, there is no way that EA is going to do a refund for premium players. Mine was a combo with the Talking Krusty Doll, so I'm not complaining about it.
