I think that the proportion of players that frequent this forum is a relatively small slice of the pie. How many regular users are there there, maybe a few hundred? And even people who come here not everyone knows or understands KEM farming. Of those few hundred only a fraction ever pay for donuts, and of those not all will necessarily change their spending practices. So how many have changed their spending practices based on KEM farming? Dozens, maybe hundreds?
And there is probably a much smaller population who don't come to the forums and figured this out for themselves, this number is probably negligible.
Bottom line is they probably lose much more revenue by a badly planned event or a buggy update, the kind of thing that makes users quit and uninstall the app.
Many good points. Thanks. anaquarind wrote:

Doe's anyone have KEM guilt?
I mean aren't we contributing to the end of this game by not contributing financially?
Yes, I know many have contributed a lot of money at one time, but there really isn't any good reason except laziness to have to pay for donuts.
Is this game still making any money?
I know EA introduced the XP multiplier, but maybe it was a mistake, maybe it's being exploited, maybe we are digging our own graves.

Not to toot my own but I've spent over $400 in real money on this game and will probably do so again in the future.

Talking about losing money ..... what about all the old items that are never recycled back into the store.
I would think most players have something they would love to get from previous events. I missed the event with the castles.... im gutted I dont have that content.

(love this analogy!) - Yeah, the extent of KEM farming has to be very small.
I've pretty much stopped visiting neighbors, but when events compel me to do so, it's pretty clear that out of my 90 or so neighbors, only a very small number have taken advantage of the various bonanzas over the last year or so (wailing walls, tennis courts, Big Ben towers, etc.). Almost none of them are KEM farming. And these are people I've added via "add me" threads, who you would expect to be more interested in this stuff than the average player.
I don't think EA is losing much, if any, revenue because of KEM farming. - I only have $1M but I find that cash takes a lot of time to build up for me for some reason. I wish I had more of it though!
- 20mill for new land or buildings but now i noticed we dont have to spend a million on a new building every level they ad monthly, now that we have a ton of levels to grind thru for 1 doughnut so i wont complain.. lets me save more money.
- kem farming isn't worth it after a while. It totally absolutely burns me out. Maybe I was doing it in a large scale but the amount of time to click on each one and wait for the donut box to appear took really too much time. I used to do few hundred kems at a time twice a day, burnt me out after a week. I have an ok multiplier and a house farm. The need for donuts isn't that great if I just want the buildings with characters (just 1-2 each event). I now take my time just collecting my farm and enjoy my game. If I need I buy huge items with great xp to get the donuts I need. Money reserves climb up nicely too. I always keep over 10 millions just in case they release land. Unless you do this in small scale, which won't help too much anyway, kem farming is too much of a chore. I do get over a hundred donuts at a time but makes me want to delete the game. So enjoy it, don't kem farm too much, and have fun. Yes I tried kem farm but I bought boatloads too. Kem farm isn't efficient or doable over the long haul so I'm not worried about EA losing money at all. I will still spend money if I need a huge amount of donuts, and I'm pretty sure many new and older players will spend too. As long as they continue to make the game fun for us with new contents and events, they will make a lot more real money from us players. Tbh a new player reading all these info trying to get a kem farm going with a good multiplier, probably already bought a boatload to give it a kickstart. So just enjoy it. It isn't the end of the game. There is still so much money to milk from us. They just need to figure out a few more fun donut dumps and mechanics that probably should make us use donuts to get donuts (like the boxes). Anyway I like the event. Hope they keep it up. And of course I missed the fc again. Please add me Into the list if there is one. Would really appreciate it. Thanks ahead of time.

I'd love to know the strategy of a purely freemium player that has over a 300% conformity bonus.
House farming, KEM farming (for longer than it was a forum thing), glitch exploiting, Mystery Box buying.
