What do you think people ate and did for food a hundred years ago I mean it's a video game and you're not going to buy something because you don't like hunting, hunting is one of the ways we keep the animal populations in check. The other would be survival of the fittest. - It is not entirely all bad about this character. During his questlines, there is some good written for him. I am against hunting and fishing for fun and entertainment and for trophies. I cannot imagine why would anyone want an animal head for decoration.

A hundred years ago people ate mostly rocks and fruit smoothies. The rocks were hunted to near extinction and you can still see teeth marks on some of them. Fruit smoothies became overpopulated and had to be culled by famous American hunter Julius Orange. "Snakeyees;1499604" wrote:

Most of the meat consumed in the U.S. 100 years ago was from farms, not from hunting."stevedilge752;1499529" wrote:

there's a difference between hunting for pleasure and hunting for food. If you are going to hunt for pleasure and do nothing with the animal - except maybe keep it as a trophy - like those people who make news for shooting elephants and lions - that is the problem. Hunting and eating is as old as time and not a problem.
You don't have to be a vegan to see the distinction.
I eat meat, I just like to know where it has come from so I can make the choice of whether to be a part of the chain.
But yeah, it's just a game.. so.. "Snakeyees;1499604" wrote:

That's not really what "survival of the fittest," or natural selection, does. The short version is that it can change the genetic traits of a population over time, which doesn't necessarily reduce the population.
I don't really have an opinion about a hunter as a character in a game, but I don't think hunting only for sport is OK in real life.- I don't really know anyone who hunts who just chucks the animal. That whole concept seems antiquated. All the hunters that I know use the animal, and every licensed hunter (and as far as I know there aren't many unlicensed ones) has a strict limit on what he can take. The old buffalo hunts where they rode out on the plains shooting animals like fish in a barrel doesn't really happen anymore. Sure, you have a few jerk poachers in places like Africa who do that crap but most legit hunters are as appalled by that as everyone else.
- I am against the taking of life for no good reason. Hence I am against hunting if the intention is not for food.
On a side note, I am not a vegan and do eat meat. Because there are still some health experts that say that certain nutrients are hard to get from vegetables. Anyway I always clean up my plate. I saw many people always left behind a lot of food including meat. This is really a waste as some animals need to be sacrificed to be food and it is such a waste. - I wasn't interested in the character because I didn't know anything else about him besides he's a hunter. I think one bit of dialogue indicated he was sadistic in his pleasure of hunting and killing. So, no thanks.
I eat meat, but sometimes I don't want to anymore. But I could not live off of just veggies. So that settles that.
As to the question of there always being hunters and meat, what about Adam and Eve? They only ate fruit and veggies. So basically we only eat meat because they/we sinned. Therefore we definitely shouldn't take pleasure in the sin of hunting. ;)"sideshowdan9;1499732" wrote:
