Another spreadsheet user here. But mine was started to figure out how to maximize my Conform o meter at lower levels when money is an issue. Now I have a page keeping track of the characters I have, (I count off when I'm assigning tasks. helps to know what number I have to count up to) A page listing all the buildings and their payouts which lead to how much I should make in the run of a day, a page with all the land costs, a page with all the premiums and their pros so I could figure out the best way to spend my donuts... And I admit it, I am a spreadsheet loving nerd. And damn proud of it.
And for Halloween, I too was keeping track of who visits. JUST who visits. I didn't care what they tapped, so long as they showed up. People who didn't visit got deleted. So I could replace them with people who would visit. I now do keep track of those who tap my Tile and the big 3, but in my case, it is so I can return the favour. I firmly believe in Karma and if one of my neighbours takes the time to tap those things, then I want to pay it back.
This is how I play my game. There's lots of data for this game and I use it like one would use a walkthrough or a guide for any other game. I put the data in a spreadsheet because I find it easier to examine that way. I guess I kind of take it seriously. But I consider it as a way to maximize my enjoyment. And I have played this game every day for the last year. I now have 2 games. I'm pretty much hooked. Might as well be honest about it.
