If you were in Krustyland when opening the Mystery Box it seems that. It is a unique item but doesn't know you own it while in krustyland it only checks for krustyland buildings. My guess is you could possibly get a few duplicate things in the mystery box this way. If you happened to win something unique while in Krustyland... Sorta like switching devices and getting duplicate items you can only get once?
