I've been enjoying the discussion of EB; hearing people's positions on it. Let's have a poll.
I answered that I want to know so I can make up my own mind.
Count me in)I vote for the same*)- I admit curiosity gets the better of me. I like to know, but I don't necessarily take advantage of them when they occur.
Would EA even read the notification if someone were to tell? They don't seem to notice when we endlessly complain about non-beneficial glitches. 4kidsandacatdog wrote:

My guess is that EA is keeping stats on things to make a decision on whether to let things ride or not.
The reason would be that modifying code is a risk, because you can introduce new bugs every time you touch the code. When it seems to be affecting the bottom line, that is probably when they decide to touch the code.- I didn't use it although I started to see things about it mainly because I didn't have time. If it occurred this week, I would absolutely have used it. There are enough glitches that hurt people that I have no issue with people taking advantage of beneficial glitches.
- I'm confused as to the difference between #1 and #3
That is, the phrase "I can use it" means "I can have the ability to use it" ... which is the same as #3.
The only way #1 can differ from #3 is if #1 reads "I want to know and I will use it"
(Same issue exists with #2, btw)
Right? annettemarc wrote:

I think people know what I meant, but I've changed it.- I've also gone for I'll make my own mind up to but it appears that we have a spy in our midst or maybe a joker, lol.

I would tend to agree with your speculation. I am saying this based on my observations from past experiences with the game. Over the past 3 or so years of tapping, we have experienced many different glitches with the game.
Just from this current event alone, we have had the double payout on Cecil's rewards, the Money Mountain glitch, and then Endless Bob's. Also, all of the currency earning tasks were not highlighted. EA has very poor overall communication with its players. So we are simply left to guess and speculate what is going on. While some of these were fixed promptly, others took longer.
Before this, one of the biggest glitches of the entire game was the stackable handshake glitch. This glitch lasted for months before it was corrected. I speculate that EA allowed this to continue to exist, because they were actually still making money off of the glitch. Several people, myself included, spent donuts to rush finishing a Squidport tile to tap, while we could still stack them. Also, the glitch changed after the first week or so, from where we could stack a multiple handshakes, like over 10, to were we could only stack one or two, before we had to clear the hand shake. That was rather suspect. The glitch continued to exist with the reduced stackables for another month or two. I know other players at that point who rushed growing their corn, to get it tapped, and also bought Bumblebee man or Arnie Pye, to maximize their tap profit at the TV station.
I would speculate that had the Money Mountain glitch contained a few different sections that required players to rush with donuts to advance, instead of just the one with Smithers, then EA would have allowed that glitch to exist longer, to collect some more donuts. Maybe I am being cynical, but I think EA is just like any other capitalist company, their focus is the bottom line. If they are losing out on the glitch, they will remove it as quickly as possible, but if they are unexpectedly profiting from the glitch, then they will let it ride, or at least assign a much lower priority to resolving the issue. This makes for a poor customer service experience, and gives a mixed message to the players. Thus, I cannot fault anyone for exploiting any known glitches.- I would want to know and I would decide if or how I would use it. I found out about Endless Bob and yes I did use it. I didn't overly exploit it but I did get what I wanted and then some with the glitch.
- I think sometimes if there's a glitch about, you just gotta use it and make the most of it. Sitting down and pondering whether I feel comfortable using it eats up valuable time, where if I take too long the glitch could be fixed.
Glitches aren't going to hurt or damage anybody, this isn't like taking advantage of a shady business connection to get ahead. No one dies, no one gets hurt, the glitch can be sorted if EA chose to, and I want donuts!
Of course that's just my opinion and I'm not going to say it's the right one, except to say it's right for me. If sitting down and thinking about whether you are going to use it is right for you, then that's what you should do.
However if the person who would tell EA about glitches isn't joking (yeah, I know it's a joke, just talking theoretically) I do think that's the wrong choice to make, as it means you are trying to make the decision for everybody, and that just ain't right!!!
