Inexpensive tablet to play the game on?
I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" and the game runs fine (Latest model is Tab 4). Get something with 1.5Gb RAM and you should be ok. Cost €150 Edit Also comes in 8"

If you want to buy locally, to support stores, and have an option to return it, then do so. Go buy a device and feel good about it. But that's not typically where you'll find the best price, because they have more overhead maintaining that store.

I thought you wanted something cheap. Cheap AND local = on clearance, and that means visiting stores daily and looking for that one old stock item that's been marked down, and getting it before anyone else.
The middle ground if you have a hangup with ebay is to buy from Amazon Prime where THEY cover any return issue very quickly.

I have a spare Nexus 7 '12 with good battery and USB, but cracked glass/no touch function. Someone sat on it in bed. I was saving it for parts backup. Would this thing help you?
