Inexpensive tablet to play the game on?
I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" and the game runs fine (Latest model is Tab 4). Get something with 1.5Gb RAM and you should be ok. Cost €150 Edit Also comes in 8"

Yes, and I was tempted... But like I said: The only game I play that I could find in their store was Tapped Out. There are several other games I play on my Nexus (Plants vs Zombies 2, Pac Man, etc) that I wouldn't be able to play. And since I want a cheap tablet that I'm not afraid to lose or break if I carry it with me to a doctor's appointment, extended shopping trip, etc... It's a pain to have to lug around multiple tablets.
Oh, and the cheap Fire doesn't even have a rear camera if I want to take a picture - like if we were in a traffic accident or something.
I wish I could justify the expense of one of the larger smart phones, but given that they don't work very well (if at all) out where we live I just can't. Those monthly charges would eat my budget alive.
