iOS 11 - Constant Re-Download

Constant updates: Usually this happens when your device is becoming quite full.
Check to see if your device is getting full and off load some apps.

I agree with @KrustyBrand 's comment.
It could also be due to a corrupted file in your TSTO game, so you may want to try deleting & re-downloading the app.
Hope you're able to resolve the issue quickly.

Its redownloading on my samsung phone too, i reloaded the app but keeps downloading

I kniw this wont help your issue, but I wouldn't worry about THOH tomorrow. You have some time, the "classic mini events" starts Thursday 9/28. Thoh usually wont hit until the first week of October

This sounds to me like the problem I've seen over and over in the Answers forum. The problem is often caused by a "cleaner" app that "automatically clears up space for optimum efficiency" on peoples devices. Once the app is removed or configured to ignore the Tapped Out files the problem stops. Does iOS 11 have something like that built in?

I'm not an IOS user so and haven't been since a second gen ipod touch so this is pure speculation by me but iOS 11 might be using more ram/virtually ram so therfore need more empty space for temporary storage of files that are swapped out as needed and that's why it's removing as it sees unused files to create the space, where it was recommended to leave 2 gig free for previous OS it might now be wise to up that to 3 gig or if possible even 4 gig.

I'm not really sure this is an entirely EA issue, given that most people having this problem say that it only happened after updating to iOS 11. It sounds more likely to be a problem with how the new iOS is interacting with both the game and the hardware. It's possible, for example, that iOS 11 is using more space as virtual memory, essentially hiding how much space is actually taken up by the operating system. My iPhone 6S has no problem with TSTO on iOS 11, but I've got tons of free space.

The fact that more memory is required as the app is updated is not unique to EA or to Apple. It's also a trend that is not going to be reversed. It may very well turn out that there is a change that EA can make to work better with the new iOS, but that change may be a long time coming, if ever. In the meantime, if clearing space works, then great. If it's not an option for you then I guess I don't have much to add that can be helpful.

Not that I put a ton of stock in what EA Help tells users, but if this is solely an iOS issue, why would EA be working on a fix (as per @hwastim ‘s post in this thread)?

I suspect that EA support will sometimes just say anything to get rid of you if they can't easily fix your problem.

Point taken. The only other thing I would say is that various users have stated that they know that the problem is due either to EA’s code or alternatively to iOS. I don’t see how how anyone posting here can be that certain.

Well unless they work for either Apple or EA and have access to the code they can't know I don't work for either so anything that I say is pure guess work but it appears that there is some kind of clash between the two codes (tapped out and iOS 11) that is affecting the game as to who is at fault I suspect that we'll never know.
