Is anyone else losing interest in the game?

I clock my interest waning at around late February or early March, I like the events and the level updates but the same old grinding away just doesn't hold interest anymore.

And I know it's about redesigning and I need to redesign my town and I want to do it but I can't find the motivation and my artistic skills are extremely lacking so whatever I design looks like garbage :roll:

But yeah, right now I'm not playing as often as I used to.

I got frustrated and realised that this game is waaaaaaay too money hungry when Halloween came and there were no NEW decorations for sale. Everything new was sold for donuts and I was stuck with the same dead trees, pumpkin patches and pumpkins from last year.

i'm already thinking about buying my second boatload this Christmas if their is a good Gill sale

I can somewhat identify with all this now going on my 1 year anniversary of daily addicted premium gameplay...
The interest can indeed wax & wane as with any relationship, hobby, work or entertainment in life... and maybe death too :twisted:
The solution is variety as the spice if life to refresh things a bit; heavier townscaping / redesigning & additional characters /buildings /quests, but obviously we can reach the top of Mt.Springfield, the Volcano Lair, or Sit'n' Rotate & just need to take a break. The solution there for EA is continued Creativity: COC was a solid example of this (although some die hard fans weren't into it but ya can't always please everyone)... PURPLE!
More unique events like this should retain/refresh things quite a bit... Maybe time for 'The Hurricane' event to wreak some funky havoc w/plenty cleanup/rebuild tasking w/dependent neiboreeno visits for assistance :wink:

There really is no end to what can be done creatively & w/the income being generated by this game there is certainly tons more that can be done, not the least of which, is the highly desired addition of Futurama! ...whether that be character tie-ins /visits, adding a portal to Futurama, or an entirely separate game; personally I'd dig the portal & seeing some crazy character interaction, especially w/Frink & Farnsworth devising some funky sciencey schemes...

Anyhow, as mentioned by others, it would be a shame to permanently lose some favorite neighboreenos w/ impressive townscaping...
I'll offer some soothing thoughts to ponder:
1. Ehh, I'm bored / don't like the events & don't have funds or can't afford it....
~Solution: Play scratchers/lotto & hope to win a couple hundred to waste on this wonderful game :mrgreen:
2. Ehh, I'm ticked I didn't win scratchers or lotto...
~Solution: Come to the forum to b*tch more :x
3. Ehh, my threads keep getting locked & now I'm banned from the forum...
~Solution: Go on a bender ...And hope Bender will reappear asap :!:
4. Ehh, thanks to the internet now I'm bored of all my other addictions...
~Solution: FreezerMan time! - & hope you thaw out for level 100 8)
5. Ehh, I'm just sick of the tapping, I'm officially Tapped Out!
~Solution: Take a week or two off during a vacation, as you probably shouldn't be glued to the friggin game anyhow while visiting somewhere, ...ehh, unless of course it's too boring there, then back to the forum :roll:

Do you have an xbox? A nintendo? A playstation? I don't know about you but my husband spends tones of money on games like destiny where he plays through once and then never again. And sometimes not even that, he gets half way through and he is bored. He too used that cyber space argument with me, but at the end of the day there are very few video games you are gonna play over and over again. I look at our book shelf and see tones of his video games collecting dust. I know some people may play games over and over again, but I have a feeling those people are not the majority of people. Even those that play over and over again usually, in my experience with friends, just have that one game that they play (in our case it is Halo).

Sounds very familiar. My ex would buy Xbox games not even finish them but never gets bored of the online game "eve online". He got tapped out for his android tablet when it was released but he got bored of that as well.

I think that the bottom line here is that everyone gets sick of every game eventually. It just happens, no matter how good the game could possibly be.

About console (or PC) games, it happens. A bad choice in a game happens from time to time, and not many people play many games over again.
