Is taking advantage of in game glitches cheating?
I say no. There are no "rules" for this games therefore cheating can occur. Is it unethical, well that's a different questions, but no I don't think it's unethical either.

And sorry maxx for turning the direction of your thread, I thought it was a comparable example that everyone would accept as cheating. I was soooooooo wrong.
Cheating is subjective though and has many different forms. It is also related to "being cheap". For video games it is a different subject, especially if it's a solo-player experience. Their are cheat codes built into some games, other's are achievable by unlocking them (well used to I guess). Obviously if it is against for a multiplayer game it is clearly in the wrong, since some glitches/cheats are incredibly easy to do, requiring no sense of skill to beat players that do have the skill at the game.
When you look at the solo experience it is different. Tapped Out is a more solo experience, so the line is different. Is house farming cheating? You are essentially manipulating the game to increase your cash pay out (same as this stackable handshake). The stackable handshakes just turn out the cash/xp faster than house farming. Either way you are gaining more money/xp then a normal/expected play through. House farming has been around since the dawn of the game. The only way they attempted to combat that was with the decoration limit. They could have put a halt or a limit on the number of houses instead. Yet today we still see many people farming their houses.
They did attempt to combat the stackable glitch. 1) they auto collected all stackables with the Xmas update. 2) they removed the 3.5 day tiles so a majority of players near/at/over the (original) limit was halted. 3) I believe it was reported they also combated the placement of the additional tiles no longer allowing those stored tiles to be placed.
Overall, they still left it as is; as the a real fix could take the game out. We know the game has bugs, it we also don't want more of them.
