Is TSTO appropriate for a 9 year old?
I wouldn't let anyone under the age of 11 or 12 play it...some of the content and jokes are a bit too mature for a 9 year old but not so much for an 11 or 12 year old.

My 11 and 12 year olds play this game. For my kids they don't get the really bad dialogue (in fact I'm not even sure how much they read it). They also don't play that much. They go though times where they play, then don't touch anything for a bit. My advice is to trust your gut as we don't know her. Each child is different and if you feel like it's ok go for it, if not don't. 9 times out of 10 your gut feeling is right.
