- I agree that it's gotten absurd. This is the first event in which I haven't bought virtually all of the premium items. They've gone beyond reason, but that must be where they make money. At this point, they can't get much more from me because I've already bought everything. I was profitable to them in the past. It's the players at the lower and mid-levels that are their target now. They'll be profitable to EA in the future.
I'm not stopping playing the game ... but I'm not automatically buying everything they sell, either. :( - I do agree with that EA have definitely got even MORE greedy recently and some of the donut purchases recently are just daylight robbery and so not worth it.
However.... Nobody is forcing you to spend money on this game and you don't NEED to have everything in this game to enjoy it. It is your choice to keep spending money - jukan00New SpectatorI agree that EA has put a lot more premium items up but what is confusing to me (and fortunate for me) is that most of them aren't very interesting. It seems like they're throwing a lot of stuff that either isn't really canon or it's from a recent season or it's not very appealing at all. They'd be smart to offer some more classic stuff at least if they're going to barrage us with premium items.

ABSOLUTELY! It used to be really really hard for me to pass up the premium stuff. So I almost never did. Now, so many of them are just "meh" ... and I pass on them and don't even care.
I'll definitely buy some of them in this event -- but in many cases, I'll pass.- EA's grreed has certainly hit a new high. Any hint at subtlety is now completely gone. Most of the recent content has also been totally MEH! Very easy not to buy it, think about it or care about it in even the smallest way.
I'm passing on pretty much everything. IF something good comes along, I'll consider buying donuts, however in the mean time, I'll continue playing once a day......until that becomes too much of a chore or they give us a collect all button. - EA seems to be feeling us out to see how much we're willing to spend and what we're willing to put up with. The way to answer them is to keep playing, but limit buying donuts to whatever you think is reasonable. Don't splurge for limited-time items unless they really appeal to you. Basically show them what you're willing to spend and stick to it. Reduce your spending a little, just to show them you will. Eventually, they will figure out where the balance is between profits and customer satisfaction.
- I think the days of being a completionist are numbered...How could anyone buy everything indefinitely? What if this game went on for 10 more yrs? As Annette mentioned - premium players need to simply pick and choose what appeals to them - and not buy just to buy. I'm a premium player, and I passed on Sportacus for example. For freemium players there is a LOT of free content in this event. Each phase has free items and premium items. No one should be surprised by that at all.
- I've gotten a bit more choosier as well. I only buy the premium characters I really like and if the decoration doesn't come with a fair multiplier, I pass. Exceptions would only be made for things I just have to have, but if the multiplier was really low, I'd be encouraged to pass even if I really like it.
Events used to come with 20 donut 2% multiplier items. Haven't see those since xmas. Starman_thc wrote:

Same here. I am finding it easier and easier to pass on stuff that has little or no enduring connection to the simpsons. I do have to admit that I am still eyeing the helicopter I missed tho...
Agreed. IMHO, it's the FGTQFS factor. The FG game started it, dumping a whole lot of non-cannon premium-priced content during events, and they hold very frequent events. Much of the content would generate small amounts of event currency, then be useless after the event. The Dr Marvin Monroe outdoor office is exactly the same thing FG was doing last year,(an outdoor room) but at least it's used for a quest. In the end, it looks to me that EA tore that page from the TinyCo playbook, and TSTO is much worse for it.
Edit to note this is the very reason I quit FGTQFS. I even had over 1,500 clams when I quit.
