If that's how you feel, then yes, you should quit. But no one is MAKING you spend all that money. You don't HAVE to be a completionist to enjoy the game. If you did, then I'd never have had any fun! I just spend what I want and enjoy what I have, and don't worry about the rest. Try it!

I agree that it's gotten absurd. This is the first event in which I haven't bought virtually all of the premium items. They've gone beyond reason, but that must be where they make money. At this point, they can't get much more from me because I've already bought everything. I was profitable to them in the past. It's the players at the lower and mid-levels that are their target now. They'll be profitable to EA in the future.I'm not stopping playing the game ... but I'm not automatically buying everything they sell, either. :(

I do agree with that EA have definitely got even MORE greedy recently and some of the donut purchases recently are just daylight robbery and so not worth it. However.... Nobody is forcing you to spend money on this game and you don't NEED to have everything in this game to enjoy it. It is your choice to keep spending money

I agree that EA has put a lot more premium items up but what is confusing to me (and fortunate for me) is that most of them aren't very interesting. It seems like they're throwing a lot of stuff that either isn't really canon or it's from a recent season or it's not very appealing at all. They'd be smart to offer some more classic stuff at least if they're going to barrage us with premium items.

I bought everything. But nobody is making me. You can enjoy the game as freemium player you know..

So I almost never did. Now, so many of them are just "meh" ... and I pass on them and don't even care.I'll definitely buy some of them in this event -- but in many cases, I'll pass.

I'm a premium player but have always chosen my purchases wisely. I buy a boatload around Christmas and that Will usually last me for the entire year. However, this is event really bothers me. I have so far earned a bunch of skins for players I don't have nor do I wish to buy. What bothers me is that I still only have five players that I can use to play ball. Soon I will get that Milhouse skin which is a skin already have. I'm progressing really slowly during this event and that is a rarity for me. I play regularly and continuously. I'm annoyed that it seems like I have to use donuts to be able to have more players.

This event is turning into an Easter event for me and I am grinding away but still barely able to craft anything and now I have to use 500 AB bucks to get one ball?

I refuse to use donuts just to get a bunch of crappy rewards.

I quit FG a few months back for precisely the same reason. Don't miss it one bit.
With Tapped Out going the same route......well, we'll see, right?

I have to wonder.. Is it really that profitable for EA to charge 85 donuts for Nelson or 100 for Bart? I'd be far more likely to pay a dollar or two for these limited use skins and not bother with donuts at all. Would offering them for a lower price (and doing away with donuts altogether for items like this) widen the pool of buyers and increase revenue?

I actually prefer EA to release a lot of premium content, so that I can choose the one or two items I think I will enjoy the most instead of only having one or two options to choose from that I might not enjoy so much. There's no greed involved - they're just giving us options. If you aren't able to resist spending more money than you can afford on this stuff, it isn't EA's fault.

I am also getting irritated with how greedy EA is getting lately with premium content. The 4th of July Event is especially infuriating. Rehashing Kang as the freemium character is just lazy and inconsiderate to veteran players. There were so many possibilities (Jebediah Springfield, The Historical Museum) and they decided to cheap out and be greedy.

I passed on a few of the past event items because it's getting so costly. I'd rather own character/building combos NPCs, and skins than decos and buildings that just sit empty and take up room. I'll buy them occasionally if it's something that I missed out on, but otherwise, I'll likely pass.

If premium items were one or two dollars, more people would buy more of them. I sure would......but at ten or twenty dollars a time, EA can indeed go make love to themselves.....
