I used to watch the update section and add people that my friends were adding. But I always end up with crappy neighbors who don't do anything whatsoever. Trying to build up a good set of serious players now.
I notice you are new. Hang around the forums and check out the OPS about the Squidport Tile Glitch.
I'm only new to posting. I've been lurking here for a long time and I have seen the countless threads on the tile glitch.
Started playing this game in August 2012.- I choose Monkeys!
Thank you for new inspiration. It's nice to see new fully laid out SF. Good reminder that I have a lot of work to do lol
After the Halloween event I tried the whole tracking who visits who doesn't documenting on spreadsheets. That worked for about a week and a half :/ I don't really like deleting neighbors but I let go of the few who did not update for Halloween or switch from Halloween to thanksgiving update. I don't mind what people tap and I do leave the tv station, SP, and air stage up for those who visit shortly after I collect taxes. I do this from experience visiting others it's obvious they had just cleaned up leaving nothing to tap. If this is the case I tap or spray one building then return after a few hours. - I have a spreadsheet that I use to keep track of who visits each week, who has a tile, where everyone keeps their Channel 6/farm/stage and which of those buildings/tile they keep active for people to tap. I generally keep 100 neighbors, whether they're active or not, just so I can get the daily XP. If I get a friend request, I check my spreadsheet and remove non-visiting neighbors in the order of their last visit. Since I know people get busy or sick, it takes several weeks of not visiting or signs of inactivity before I consider removing them. The only people I delete after only a week or so of not visiting are random requests who couldn't find their way to my neighborhood even once.
I used to have a lot of random requests from players who then couldn't be bothered to be neighborly, but lately I've been getting requests from some really good, active players. It's always fun to open my game and see all the handshakes and mops. - I already know that most of my friends are too busy to visit regularly. But they always come around during an event so they get to stay.
- i'm fairly new to this game, can someone tell me the do's and don't's of visiting/tapping friends ettiquette? I keep hearing about tapping tiles, what are tiles? All i see when i visit my friends are dollar, spray can, cash register and menu signs, i usually just tap a krusty burger/spray can a building, tap a house and something else like a kwik e mart, is that not allowed? I tried looking for corn and tiles, stuff i heard that benefits both parties, but they are not visible.
- I guess my reasons for removing are if they're not active, rarely ever visit my town and if my game is on constant crash mode while trying to visit their specific town. My game will crash repeatedly with any heavy farming towns, the helicopter flying around (which I rarely remove for since they dont have it flying all the time).
I really don't like removing people at all... I don't care what gets tapped either really, Im done with the tiles, I have the stage up and ready and I had Channel 6 up until I got tap happy and hit the last handshake tonight. :(
More than anything I just appreciate neighbors who do take the time to visit my town daily and forum regulars that I can check on to see what their specifically wanting from their neighbors at the time.
So if this is you... By all means "Won't you be my neighbor" :^P
Hahaha - If their town has no thought behind it, and is just a bunch of buildings lumped together with one tiny street with all their characters they get dropped. Dirty hanky style.

I tapped on my last tile the other day so I no longer have the tile option
I cried a little inside when I saw that, in fact I said, right out loud, "Noooooo Rose!" and got  looks from my family ha ha.
Trust me I cried a little also - but I can't really complain, I now have more tiles than I know what to do with. But it's a pity my neighbors miss out on the XP :(
Sorry rose. Thanks for all the visiting though :'-(- Generally if I visit someones town and for days on end no one is on task they are gone. If thry don't give tasks then what is the likelihood they visit my town?
- I am at 100 neighbors and have been thinking of this with the Christmas event coming up.....I was planning on using the Christmas event to easily flag anyone who is not actually participating in the event by the end of the first weekend after the event starts.
The only exceptions would be those who have proven to actively visit inbetween the Halloween and the Christmas events.
I actively visit neighbors daily, reaching all at least once every 3 days....and I have been lucky that a majority do the same by dropping by one or twice a week as well. It is that bottom 30% I am looking to weeding out with the Christmas Event.
