I would suggest putting your canon by your elf door. The Canon is the new landing point when entering a town, Both you and your neighbor get more bells from tapping these two objects. Just a thought and that's what I'm going to do. I have a bad cold and don't feel like doing the math, but neighbor only receives cash if you tap anything else, so why not two taps per neighbor and everyone maximize bells? Someone correct me if I didn't think this out properly. But I've been door and canon farming all evening and almost have the first prize.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing!- I searched out cannons and doors as well and am almost to the second prize. I am sure it will be harder to do as the time goes on, but it is a good strategy if you have the time.
- So we can best help our neighbors by going back a second time (or however often it takes) to tap the cannon and door. Good thing they brought back the leaderboard so it'll be easier to jump to specific neighbors.

Late to the game, but definitely on board!- I can confirm that once you run out of friend points, tapping on the cannon or tunnel just nets you cash, my strategy is going to be a modified cannon hunting- go through my 75ish neighbors tap on cannon/tunnel if I see it otherwise just tap on one building ( and then see how many friend points I have left and finish the daily total at the same time) because I like a time ordered visiting list...I tried the constantly revisiting because it was needed during Valentine's day and found I'm much more likely to be a consistent visitor if I set one fixed time and visit versus hunting over and over again
- Standing together now :P
I move the stonecutter statue to inventory ( just this winter) and put the icemountain instead, when spring the mountain melts ans i switch again so no space lost!
question:
After how many houres your town is FULL of elfs to tab? - When are you supposed to get the cannon? I've got Homer sitting on the tunnel hatch, but so far, no scorecard for bells unless I go to visit my neighbours, and no Phase 2 prize list :-o
- Can you tap your friends connon more than once per day?
Let's say I visit friend A, and tap his "loaded" cannon only. Then I leave without tapping anything else, having two taps left in his town. Can I then come back 4 hours later (or how long it takes to reload the cannon, I have not recieved mine) and tap that agin, or do you have to wait a day?
Edit: yes you can tap the cannon again. - I am two hours away from getting my cannon, and if I go into a friends town I can fire that cannon, but I do not see any bells on their houses, only money. Same with the tunnel, only a stack of money. I have only a few friends yet that has the cannon, so it is not because I have done 40 friends-actions already.
Is this because I don't have my cannon?
Edit: The bells will show in your neighbor towns when you get the cannon. I will practise the fine art of patience... kingmob31838 wrote:

After Homer finishes the standing on tunnel quest, you'll get another quest to collect elves, and after that, you get the cannon (and this is where phase 2 starts for real, with the prize list and everything else).
