I believe someone mentioned the outfit being called Moog, so perhaps it's a reference to Droog.

And, of course, play on words for "Moe". "Moe" may be a play on words for its Japanese meaning? Sarcastic since Moe is depicted as non cute in several episodes.

Droog is Russian for friend, per Wikipedia.
