Affirmative. Donuts stop after part three.
Oh, this is just getting worse and worse...
But thanks for verifying...
Lame, yay 6 donuts, woohoo
Maybe it's punishment for those who fight clubbed their way to thousands of free donuts last event.
I doubt it for many reasons. One is that these events are planned far in advance. EA has to be careful to make the mechanics work even for players at beginning levels. If those players are too disappointed with the event, they might leave the game, and EA doesn't want that.
The 6 donuts does look to me like a normal average for bonuts. The price of the premiums is another matter; those do seem to be going up.
You make some good points, but how far in advance do you think they plan these? I suppose you could be right but is it possible that some of this event was "tweaked" in the last couple of months to stop ....you know what... from happening? Even if this event was planned 8-12 months ago, they've had since Terwilliger's to fix certain things, that would give EA a few months to change some mechanics.
I would assume at least 8 months, probably longer. It would depend on how many people they have to work on it. Sure it is possible to tweak the code relatively late. It's even possible to plan for that. I wonder if they have modeling software that allows them to do "what-if" scenarios with the parameters of the event. Even so, they'd have to consider the risks of making those changes and creating new bugs. What gets me is that they had a solution and didn't use that on the very next event.- Gotta say, so far I'm really enjoying the caps.
The fact that I can only play up to a certain amount and no more has done wonders for avoiding the burnout I experienced with some past events (looking at you, Terwilligers!!!). Once I max out what I can, I get to spend more time designing, which is by far the better part of the game. :-) aidx1054 wrote:

This cap is a reminder of why i won't give my money to EA. I was considering buying some donuts before this too. Oh well. If EA is going to be greedy, I will be stingy.
The cap isn't showing that EA is being greedy, EA are just listening to us, people complain about not having anything to do even though events are still running, so EA decided to limit our play so we play less each day but more days in total. And also even you were to get everything on day one EA wouldn't lose donuts they would lose monorail tracks which (if they are going to stick around) would be for in game cash like SP tiles not donuts. Another sign that this cap isn't EA being greedy is the fact that it doesn't have any effect once we get the last prize, its like EA saying "oh well, we tried slow them down but it didn't work he still has X days to spare, let's just let him get as many tracks as he can while still sticking to the event". And another thing EA is giving us 6 donuts (probably the average amount a player would earn by playing an event hack/glitch free) this act for nothing because they probably knew that people would be complaining about not getting any donut opportunities as usual.
TLDR: EA aren't being greedy
I get what you are saying but i disagree. Limiting players until the very end unless they purchase donuts to spend and get ahead is strictly a business decision that only benefits EA. If they were doing it for the benefit of players there would be no cap. I personally like being able to ahead as I can't rely on being able to play consistently every day. Weekends are hard for me to play. I have much more going on versus when I am at work. Having a cap forces me to either lose out on the days i can't and hope i can catch up with the cap or use donuts.
If you like the pace that's great. I don't. I don't like being limited by a company on how much i can play in a day unless i spend money to progress further. It comes off as greedy. That's just how i feel. I'm sorry if i come across as defensive and i hold nothing against you at all. I am just very frustrated with this event and the increasing prices on premium items. Its getting harder to accumulate donuts and the end of events were ways for me to get extra donuts to spend. I was considering buying donuts to supplement those i got after this event but now i feel differently.
I'm sorry for venting. As a freemium player who loves this game it just really irked me to see EA set a limit like i see on other free to play games. I don't like it.MrPMPisBeefy wrote:

If you look at the cap in a different light you might like it more, the cap allows you to leave the game for a while during the day and not feel like you're falling behind, because everyone has the same cap.
I would agree with you that EA are being greedy if the cap didn't rollover (I.e you don't use the full 4500 tough luck) but this way you can do just enough to get the daily bonus and leave the rest til tomorrow
I don't know much about the price of premiums because I'm freemium too but I have noticed that the amount of premiums went down a lot too, like many were asking.
Don't worry about venting, sure I do the same thing- I've had a daily cap of 10,000 everyday since the beginning of Act 2. Can we get the image updated in the original post to reflect the new daily caps?

It looks to be 9500 a day. If it was 10,000 a day then the cap today would be 40,000, but I'm capped at 38,654; just over the 38,000 a 9500 a day would predict.Neglecterino wrote:

Good to know it's 9500 and not 10,000! The image in the first post shows it at being 7500, though, so it'd be helpful for passers-by to have it updated (unless it's already updated, and I'm just having a caching issue with the image).- updated with the new values
- I started the day at 80281 and capped out at 89291. Has anyone else seen the cap be 9000 instead of 9500?

You probably went over the cap yesterday by 500 so your cap was reduced by 500 today to even it out
