New log on problem-Verification codes

I have some old devices that I was going to sell/recycle but never got around to it; I am glad now that I have 5 devices for my 5 games. However that is STILL a pain, some are clunky and I am not going to drag 5 devices along when on-the-go. I’ve had these towns since 2012, a lot of time and effort (and a few dollars) so I hate to give any up, but this camel is close to that final straw!

Incidentally I found the passwords to my ancient email accounts- back in the day I actually wrote them down.

The top of what page? I have 9 towns, but only one EA forum login.

If only it were that simple @wadebear.

Unfortunately you cannot make any changes to your account without triggering a "verification code" being sent to your old (now defunct) email address.
If you can't access it, you can't change it, that's why I & so many other people are still playing towns attached to outdated emails.

So far I've escaped being hit with a login verification code, but if it strikes the only other option I can think of is to go cap in hand to EA support with my mayhem number and hope that an actual human can transfer my town across to a new account.

I’ve been playing this game for over NINE YEARS using an email address that isn’t real which has never caused a problem. Even if this is fixed and you need a code just once I am never going to be able to log in to my account again.

The reason why the email address isn’t real is because back in March 2012 when it was the beta version, it was incredibly glitchy and I had to keep starting new towns with new addresses. It was so glitchy they took it off the App Store and relaunched properly in September 2012.

My only comfort is I will not be the only person with an account linked to a fake or dead address so they will probably find a work around.

I switch between 3 accounts, it’s already annoying to do the age thing 4 times a day, I’m not logging into 3 email accounts 12 times a day. I don’t have that kind of time. I’ve never played a game that has so many roadblocks to play. It’s a freaking game. This thing has more protection than my bank accounts.

Also I have played since October of 2012. Maybe this is the time to finally let it go. Ball is in their court. As of now, I. Not even trying to log in to my accounts. I’ll watch this forum to see if it’s fixed, otherwise, I’m out.

Fortunately, I have two devices - phone and tablet - to play on, so I can play one town on phone and one on tablet. It's just too much of a pain to switch between them now. What I don't get is, if they were looking for a different security system, why didn't they allow for some of the biometrics (fingerprint, facial recognition, etc.)? If it's good enough for banking, you'd think it would be good enough for gaming.

I have all my email accounts forward into my main account. You could even filter it to only forward these code emails

I had been playing since 2012, and now I’m out. Constant verification codes, sometimes unable to log in....just garbage. Ballgame over for me. Good job EA.

Try this method. It worked for me and I haven’t had any more issues.

Force close out all apps, restart device. Now open up the game, log in with the code and you should be ok.
