No Support for ASUS Infinity TF700T

I completely agree here. It is ridiculous that such a high end tablet is not "compatible" when other tablets like the transformer prime, nexus 7and nexus 10 be compatible. Given these tablets can play it, there really is no excuse.
Plus the customer service i have receieved to deal with this issue has been less than poor. Despite the sometimes helpful advice, i literally waite 2 months for something that resembled an answer. This is unacceptable.
Your company is missing out. I`ll be very interested to see if any of this changes when full hd phones come out. If not, then POOR show EA...
  • So I guess I got my answer. EA doesn't care about its customer base.

It is really sad when a game plays great on an older ASUS Transformer, but it won't even launch on the new ASUS Infinity. I don't understand this device specific requirement EA is using, but its dumb, and leaves a lot of people out in the cold. I remember the good old days when EA made games that were sold with recommendations for properly running the game.

EA you really need to work on being a better company....starting with us, the consumers. All you have to do is reply, respond, or answer the damn phone.

  • Just to add insult to injury, the galaxy s4 is ocmpatible even though it's just been released.

Why is this now compatible and still the Asus is left out?

It is a common thing with android you are correct, however top end devices that are the most expensive missing out is inexcusable. Older devices fine, but not the newest tablets.
  • Thats true, but for a free game? The only thing that will change if the TF700 is compatible is EA will get more money from more people buying donuts. there is literally no loss involved.

There's a cost involved in making the game compatible, it's not just the flick of a switch, if they'd deemed the market size to warrant the cost, they would've made the game compatible.

Okay that is a good point, but doesn't adding the compatibility provide a better oppertunity to earn the money back? Or maybe EA should be more concerned with customers rather than money? Perhaps that last part is out of the question, but still one can hope.
  • You can download the apk file and install it with not too much effort. I've expressed multiple times here I play on my kindle fire HD which doesn't have the app in the store.

Unfortunately, even that method doesn't work. I've been told that the initial screen appears but then takes you back to where you were when you pressed on it. It seems there's something deeper going on here to prevent it from progressing any further.

Haha true. I have received quite a few replies from EA that spanned about 6 weeks... Some replies were absolutely less than healthy. The last reply i got was them referring the problem to the studio who makes it (after being referred to a higher department than the general queries section to answer this question). They outright said don't expect a reply from the studio.
  • Hmm... EA still doesn't seem to want to address this here.

    So to reiterate the query:
Will this game ever be compatible with the Asus TF700T? This device currently runs on android 4.2.1 and has a Tegra 3 quad core processor. Lets go over some of the reasons why the device should be compatible: The processor isn't the problem because it has the same processor as the TF201 and Nexus 7, although it is clocked at a higher speed than all of these. Is it the screen resolution? If the screen resolution is "too high" because it's full HD, then all the new smartphones such as the Galaxy S4 wouldn't be compatible, let alone the Nexus 10 with its monstrously high resolution. Is it the specific resolution of this tablet that causes the problem? Is the clock speed too high? If that was the reason then the Galaxy S4 wouldn't be compatible since that clock speed is higher. Or perhaps is down to the popularity of the device?

It would just be nice if someone from EA could tell us exactly why it isn't compatible, given that many of the (potential) reasons are contradicted by another devices' compatibility. To paraphrase Top Gear: "how hard can it be to make this device compatible?"

It would be nice (hopeless, but nice) if someone were to respond directly to this query without "going higher up" or "forwarding it to someone with a better knowledge". Just get someone on here to answer the question directly without messing* around.

Maybe the update will come when whacking day ends on the 9th of May. I definitely won't be holding my breath though.
  • So it seems Whacking day has been extended.

Perhaps this is because they need an extra week to get the compatibility for the TF700T ready before the next major app update?

    Yeah right.
