I've noticed that many people are just really inefficient using the land they have. No need to devote a large chunk for just one mansion or building. Pretend it's a metropolitan area. I've been playing since Whacking Day and have not had a problem with land yet.
Exactly. It is already quite clear that the game is not to scale. Therefore, a forest can be indicated by two rows of trees; a giant carpark by a dozen car spaces, etc.
Store things that you don't like. I didn't like Clash of Clones, and I've stored all three of the castles.
Store duplicates where one is enough. I've stored one of the terminal buildings that came with the current Destination Springfield event (one is an important and meaningful addition to the airport; two are a pointless waste of space).
There is also a lot of Springfield Heights duplicate stuff that definitely should be stored if you're running out of space. For example, having 10 of each type of building in Springfield Heights takes up a huge amount of space and is fundamentally pointless. Have one of each of the five levels of the carpark and business centre, and one or two of the classic mansion, modern mansion and resort - just enough to show off the various additions available.
I've got a house farm of 50 blue houses, plus several of each of the other types of house, all with yards, trees, fences and roads. I've got forests and roads and space around mansions and other buildings that need it. I've been playing since the the year of the Easter wheel debacle and haven't run out of space yet.
