I have a passwords on the Kindle so he can't just pick it up and use it. But today I gave it to him with a program open, and then fell victim to the tranquility for a little too long, and got wrapped up in a documentary about J.D. Salinger. (Lest you think I'm all intellectual, I will inform you that I haven't read anything by him, and had only really stored "Catcher in the Rye" in my brain as the book people carry around when they shoot people.)
He was in my lap, quietly wrecking Springfield, while I was certain of his physical safety, but not really following the plot on what he was actually doing. He can't get into anything inappropriate, but I probably should sign out of things more than I do.
It's amazing what seems normal to us now. If you had told Eisenhower that there would be a device that could fit in a pocket, instantly access all of the information in the world, take and send photos and video instantly, and give directions via satellites, not to mention making phone calls without wires, you would blow his mind. He would immediately see the implications for the military, and he would be right to do so.
If you then told him that everybody carried these devices, teenagers and housewives and people sitting by pools in the summer, and waiting for their food in restaurants. And then you said we used them to play games, and keep ourselves and our kids busy, and be in constantfreakingcommunication with everyone we'd ever met, and most of us don't use our amazing handheld wonder machines to do anything earth-shattering at all. I imagine he'd go beyond mind-blown to dismayed with the wasted potential.
I know when I was a little girl, computers were serious business. We went on a field trip to see a Kray computer in Boulder Colorado. Seriously, we all got on a bus to drive to a different town to look at a computer. Which didn't look like anything, because it mostly consisted of a giant room full of the computer "guts." We carry more computing power around in our smartphones than NASA had available for the moon landing!
So, it's just crazy sometimes for me to think that I now can sit down and chat about how my two year old got into my game, which is hosted I-don't-even-know-where, and played by people all over the world, and laugh about how he has enough ability as a toddler to move all my pixels from one place to another without me knowing.
Future shock.
The irony embedded in this comment is...
...depressing. - Heh. I Fear this.
- It's great having kids because you can blame them for everything
Don't get me wrong hipmama I do believe you
I'll keep visiting, hope you get your town back to normal soon. :)
edited because smilies didn't work - Bummer. But it could've been worse; at least he didn't spend your donuts.
- Ouch, sorry to hear about getting nuked. I almost did that once myself. Oh and i did let my nephew play my game once. Spent like 20 donuts on resetting buildings before I noticed it. Thought I had set it up so all donut expenditures need a confirmation but apparently not. I have been curious. During a nuke does it completely reset your game and you lose everything or does it just cram your stuff in to your inventory and you just need to place everything again?
- Live n learn
I never let my kids near our iPads when they were that young they were told to stay away from the game! letting a kid that young play your game is only asking for trouble :P just be thankful he only nuked your game and didnt sign you up to all sorts of other things or spent your money
On the plus side you got a full redesign to keep you busy now  NeoSEC28 wrote:

My son will be 2 in March and he is so obsessed with the "Pad Pad" as he calls it.
he doesn't try to go into tapped out which is hidden on the last page in a folder anyways. It is unbelievable how good he is at the iPad. We have it locked so he brings it to us to unlock for him then he scrolls through the pages until her finds YouTube and the starts watching his videos. He starts to dance when he gets to what he likes and its so funny. he gets upset at the advertisements and immediately picks a different video. He knows how to make the video full screen and back and to start the video if it is paused. it is so funny watching him scroll through things until he finds what he is looking for. the only thing he does wrong is that he double taps when selecting something almost as though he is using a PC and a mouse.- OP, Someday you'll be in a restaurant and see a couple with a toddler at the next table and ask how old he is and theyll say he is two, and youll say nostalgically "I remember when mine was that age. He nuked my town." And then you'll chuckle to yourself, and they'll call the waiter over and quietly ask to be moved to another table. :)

When my son was 2, he fed a sandwich to the VCR and tried to microwave his shoes :-) He started playing on the computer with Windows 3.1 on it...
At least he has his own iPad now, LOL!- the 1st time he was in you should have logged out, the 2nd time he was in you should of DEFANATLY got the hint to log out, maby even create his own account on it? the 3rd time when he nuked it was your fault since you should know better to hand a kid something you dont want them messing with, and should know better 1st time they get in you should lock them out. so lesson learned i guess atleast he diddent run your card up thousonds of dollers with IAPs or blow all your doughnuts.
