The alien Stonecutter (number 51) was never a skin, it was always a character.

Same for me with Jasper's Stonecutter outfit. His costume has been in my inventory for years while I wait for the normal character to be put on sale during an event.

I'm curious if buying him again now would unlock the costume character, independently of the main character skin.

If you buy Jasper, you will need to consume the costume from your inventory. The costume will then be consumed by the character, and be able to be used by said character.

Non premium characters get premium jobs if you have the stonecutters buildings. 2hr jobs running the day care centre, 1hr &12hr jobs at the lodge, some have 4hr jobs and some have 12hr jobs at the stonecutters table. And 8 hr jobs, unsure where tho haven't used it yet, can't remember if there are 24 hr tasks. As far as skins go, I bought No. 67 skin, then bought Arnie Pye and his stonecutters quest started immediately even though the skins I bought for characters I haven't bought yet aren't appearing in my inventory.

As do I. Although, when I got him, I didn't have his costume, so I knew from all the Tappers complaining, to avoid his animated tasks like the plague.

I keep all the characters in their Stonecutter skins (unless they are needed elsewhere), earning premium currency and I always know where they are - usually at the Lodge. If a character (for instance Homer) is needed for a task or event I can store the Lodge or Stonecutters table to free him instead of speeding him up with donuts.

It’s too bad not all the Stonecutters can rotate into sitting at their feast table.
