Our son called his grandmother a couple of days ago and asked her to buy this for him for Christmas. She likes to be "THE" grandmother who gets the "OH MY GOD!" gift every year. He told her that the rumored price will be $399 and she said "OK honey, just send me a text with the information and the games you want for it..."
LOL why didn't I have a grandmother like that? Lucky kid. She always gets him one huge gift and then a bunch of little ones.
BTW - he wants it because he attends a private school that is located in another town 40 miles away. He wants to be able to go into chat rooms with his classmates. They are incredibly close, 15 kids who have been together for 5 years. Most of them have XBOXs and he's feeling left out.
He was the only grandkid for 8 years and now there is a 2 year old. So there really isn't much competition and the grandparents seriously love to spoil their two grandsons. Plus, she's competing against my mother to the one giving the OH MY GOD gift. It was hard for me to deal with at first but my husband convinced me to just smile and say thank you. He said it makes her feel good to do it and it would be selfish of me to deny her that feeling of really giving him something that blows his socks off.
