- I was thinking the same thing I noticed that people who complained about whacking day now wish that we had that instead. I'm not a fan of this event but I do like the Easter fences and the good prizes because one of my favorite things in the game is the redesigning
- First off, good call.

One of the main complaints as of late, is that all of the dedicated players hate the randomness of the wheel/boxes during big event updates. You want to actually earn something over time instead of spending hours collecting eggs/snakes/whatever only to get a bush or a tree. I get it, it sucks. Also, there was a time last year where we'd collect snakes and for getting a certain amount, we'd unlock a certain level prize. The more time you'd spend on an event, the cooler the prize would be. The only problem, though, is that we complained about that, too.
Personally, my only complaint about WD was that it was so time consuming. The prizes were great, and it was truly a grind (which I wasn't able to finish). There's since been a fix that makes visiting neighbors faster, which is awesome.
I felt mostly meh about the community prizes when we had them. They were, however, a great way to keep people playing after completing the event-related-quests, and that was smart, whether the numbers were fixed or not.
The first event I participated in was Halloween 2012. That was the format I liked best, because we were able to earn currency and get only the items we wanted. If that model were still in play, those who want a bunch of Easter fences could have as many as they could afford, and those that can't stand the egg piles wouldn't have them clogging up their inventory. It was nice to have choices in reward for our time and effort. adam19812005 wrote:

I really like how past events have focused more on helping friends and them helping us.
Totally agree. I loved having the community helping each other. That's what I miss most.TLprae wrote:
I really like questlines with a relevant prize at the end. I wish they would do it outside of events once in a while. It would give us something to do while waiting for content.
I would like to see more organization of the decoration items. Also, I would like more decorations. I like all the decorations and the versatility that some people have displayed with them.
I think all the the little things EA implemented is working, like the character selection via the magnifying tool, and the arrows in neighbors' towns to progress through them more quickly. I appreciate all the little additions like that and wish they would do more of them.
You mean like level 30- I personally loved whacking day. The only problem I had with it, was finding all 5 snakes in huge towns, but they solved that problem in the 2nd Halloween event, by having 20+ ghosts flying around of which you could tap 5 (more before they fixed the bug). At that point I was a happy camper. Adding the community prizes on top of that, he events have evolved into pure awesomeness and then EA did a 180 and did something completely different for Christmas: Hence the wheel was born.
Normally I hate gambling (i don't do the dog races and the scratch ticket either, not even the free ones), but it wasn't that bad, only because I was lucky enough to get all the prizes. I saw this as a one-off stray from tradition and I thought they will go back to the awesome style of Halloween and WD, but I was terribly wrong.
Forth comet Valentines Day with yet another wheel. I tolerated this event as well, because V-day is a minor event (as it was the previous year): No worries. Surely WD will be back and even better then the first one. (My god was I naive)
Well I was wrong again. They have taken the chance based pricing system to new extremes...well we all know the rest.
I have said this before, EA programmed bunnies in our friends towns and I would have enjoyed this event a lot more, if they had let us tap 10 of them per neighbors' town, resulting in 1000 extra eggs a day. Those extra 2 boxes a day would have made a huge difference in our overall attitude towards this event.
Edit: spacing for a better overview. - I think EA did right by instituting the FP system. The extra prizes and the donuts keep me visiting neighbors regularly even after events end.

Exactly. They need to do the community prizes again and stop the game of chance events.- I really miss having the same number of ghosts/eggs/cards/etc available across all my neighbors. For Halloween, I visited all of my neighbors daily, because each visit gave the same number of ghosts to zap. Once I get down to 1 egg, there is less incentive to continue visiting.
In regards to currency, I think just lowering the thresholds would improve the game significantly. It was fairly easy to get 100 tokens and a spin for Christmas, and multiple spins per day. Whereas getting 500 eggs for a single daily spin is almost impossible. For example, you could calculate the maximum number of eggs if you visited every neighbor daily and then set the automatic prize fulfillment for reaching that threshold. That way its chance based for the casual player, and a guarantee for the daily grinder.
I love the FPs. Great addition. - mwdaltonNew SpectatorI think the setup for Halloween 2013 was pretty much perfect. The ghosts weren't too hard to spot, and the system for dropping gremlins was easy.
