I understand the argument, and agree with it, but realistically what sixteen YO is going to want to quit smoking? I was 19 going on 20 before I realised that smoking isn't for making you look cool, and many of my friends now don't seem to grasp the concept of just how bad it is for you as you get older. Developmentally at 16 years the brain hasn't got the capacity to realise the later life consequences in the same way as an adult mind does. Many teens who are caught smoking will pull the "but I want to quit" line. But that's rarely true. Truth is they just want mum/dad to stop being so hard on them about smoking, which at that age is cool. Nuff said 8)
