Otto wandering off

Ok, so whenever Otto does a job at the IKEA-whatever place, whenever he is finished, no matter how quickly I put him back on the job, he continues to walk to Springfield. By the time he returns, about 20 seconds have elapsed (which means all the other characters only have 10 seconds to go). Is this happening to anyone else? It's a little annoying since, being premium, he's supposed to get 2 chairs or whatever, but since he takes so long to start the job, he's no better than the regular characters.
