Planning redesign, hints?

I dunno, I think there is something to be said about a town that grows from its roots. Most towns in the real world aren't perfectly designed.. They just develop in weird and interesting ways. That isn't to say I don't move buildings every now and then, but the core structure has remained the same.

I agree with you. My town has the basic layout that I had from the very beginning (granted a few things were moved when more land was purchased).
I tried to keep my core street layout the same and sorta branched out from their.

As far as advice goes for the original question. I wouldn't give every building too much land because you'll be stuck needing more land then there is available to us. Pretty much use your space wisely. And if you plan to make your town as realistic as possible, predesignate the shopping, residential, recreational, etc. areas before you start the redesign. It'll help a lot since you'll have a good blueprint to work off of. :)
    Anyways enjoy your redesign!
  • Adamcayce - I would love to show you pictures of my town, just don't know how to properly do it. If anyone can tell me how I will.
  • Hey neighbour,

I first bought all the land and then I redesigned my springfield section by section. I didn't want to put everything in storage at once, so I just put in a section at once (approx. 6-8 plots of land), and then I slowly started redesigning from there. Though, I must admit that I get bored with my springfield quickly, so I redesign certain sections relatively often
