PSA: For freemium players: Lord Montymort tasks.

I have done some calculations regarding the Act 3 quest line for the Battle of Springfield and Lord Montymort and how long it will take freemium players with no premium content. I have posted the figures in the strategy thread:
https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/155394/event-thread-15-thoh-xxviii-q-a-and-strategy-thread-act-ii/p5
It will take 14 days and 4 hours to complete part 3, if a player logs in 4 times a day, although the event will end after 14 days from the start of act 3. This assumes that EA leave things unchanged. Players could choose the following strategies:
A - Logging in more than 4 times a day. Bear in mind you can rush for free the battles when there is less than 24 minutes remaining.
B - Buying some premium content.
C - Rushing with donuts part(s) of the quest line. for example, the 4 hour wait whilst he regains health costs 2 donuts to rush

So with no premium monsters, I knock two hearts per round. This meant I got monty down to one heart before my final battle. I sent one monster after him, which I immediately rushed for two donuts, then spent two more donuts to rush the rest. 4 donuts let me skip 8 hours...

  • I got Montymort this afternoon on my newest town without rushing anything with donuts, although I did have 2 premium characters and managed to fit in 5 tasks on 3 days. All other days I did 4 tasks a day. Even having one premium character makes a lot of difference in this event.

I'm only showing 1/3 and just started the monster battles so 15 hearts to go on that... Guess I shouldn't bother huh....

Spend donuts. Premium characters are bought for 120 donuts, any less than that spent rushing is good value.

I was considering, but I'm going to wait until closer to the event finish time...see how much further I get...

It should be possible to turn off automatic updates on your device and that would give you extra time beyond the end date to work on monty mort. You might get a late start the next mini event but those usualy are too easy.
  • I should get Montymort late this evening. I got Angelica Button as soon as she was available, but I still had to rush the rest periods.
I'm of the opinion that the original plan for this event was jumbled to make it harder in the 3rd act. I would have made more sense if you had 1 set of battles against Montymort in each act - Magic users + Beasts. I think that's why they gifted us all those 10 donuts - so we could rush a few tasks and get done before the timer ran out.
  • Got him yesturday and my wife will get him in 4 hours. I had angelica and wiglops, my wife just had treebeard. We both rushed all the rest times
  • Heads up Freemium Peeps as we have all seen last few events this year (since Spy) a premium character bought specifically from the event was pretty much need to finish.

    Save dem sprinkles!
  • Finished the Montymort battles on Thursday and finished up the event quest and character quest shortly after. No premium helpers besides wizard Martin and no rushing necessary.

I finished this as easily as the requirements of any other event but I never ran into any glitches or gameplay issues (like a lot of other people have) that would cause a delay.
