Quest bubble lost

I honestly think even if you lost your quest bubble because of a crash, the quest should show up on you task book and you can continue through the progression of the game. At level 30 I usually crash one or twice every time I get no, and I never had a problem with any of my quest line. Knock on wood
  • Well, situation was solved in best kind of way, I received all the quests eventually. :D

In short, there is one difference between explanation offered in "simpsonstappedout" wiki and actual situation. As someone suggested, this was probably changed during "Whacking Day" update and this is the difference:
    - although "King Toot's" is listed in game as triggered by both Level 17 and "We Don't Sell myPods pt. 2" quest, the "We Don't Sell myPods" quest chain itself is triggered at level 18 and/or after successful finishing of "Miranda Rights" quest chain and/or possibly the quest "The Only Sport America Still Dominates" (which is possible to get at level 17)

    Long story, chronology:
    1. two days ago I had finished the building of police station (part of level 17 "Miranda Rights" quest chain), and wondering why I didn't yet received the other level 17 quest chain, "We Don't Sell myPods". At this point principal Skinner was unavailable as he was tasked by the game with some important 24 hour bird watching duty (but he was there all the previous time when I reported problem, earlier in the level 17).
    2. after I finished Police station, I received chief Wiggum and also I was tasked with level "The Only Sport America Still Dominates", eating competition between Homer, chief Wiggum and Comic book guy, which is supposedly start of level 18 quest chain "As American As Apple Pie" (although I am still level 17). Skinner still watching birds.
    3. after finishing this eating competition task yesterday morning, I had no further major tasks. Skinner still watching birds.
    4. still yesterday, level 18 finally. With majority of my characters free (with exception of principal ornithologist) I received task "build Luigi's" and started immediately. At this point I expected that I will receive "As American As Apple Pie pt 1.", but I didn't, which got me a little bit worried.
    5. finally principal Skinner finished watching of birds and - ta-daaaam - he prompted that Lisa should practice sax, which is start of "We Don't Sell myPods" quest chain.
    6. I started to build King Toot's this morning (part 2 of same quest chain). At this point I expected that I will get task chain "As American As Apple Pie" after I finished King Toot's
    7. But even better, I finished today building Luigi's, King Toot's is still in progress, and Comic book guy started with giving me "Apple Pie" tasks. Very soon I reached part 3 and started to build Skip's Dinner.

So I am guessing "We Don't Sell myPods" quest chain is not triggered early in the level 17, but rather later at some point, after events I described in point 2 (finishing "Miranda Rights" ), point 3 (finishing "The Only Sport America Still Dominates" ) or point 4 (leveling up to level 18 ) - which one of those, can't really tell because Skinner was not available all this time.

So I built 3 buildings in short time, lucky for me I had some extra cash.

Thanks for all the help people. :D

  • Thanks, I hope you are right. Although quest "We Don't Sell myPods" should popped up by now, maybe I should wait several hours when until current quests are finished, maybe this quest line "We Don't Sell myPods" will start then.

  • Well, it seems that problem is still here. This morning (I am in Europe) I had solved all ongoing quests, had all characters free and yet it gave me only new part of "Miranda Rights" quest and two non-linear quests. No "We Don't Sell myPods" for me apparently.

Does anybody knows is there some other way to trigger this quest line?

Am I going to stuck in future quests (level 18 and further quests) because I am not able to start and finish this one?

    Thanks, nedimaz
  • Hello all,

I found out on tstotips blog (btw. thank tstotips very much, this is great resource) that "not showing up mypods quest line which leads up to king toots building" is common glitch and thus has nothing to do with my crash, as you can see in comments for this post:
    http://tstotips.com/2013/03/14/how-do-i-unlock-the-gilded-truffle-and-king-toots/
    and in this post:
    http://tstotips.com/2013/05/10/whats-up-with-the-regular-quests-an-update/

Apparently, order of quests might be changed, but all quests should come up eventually. Or so I hope :)

  • The questline that eventually leads to building King Toot's came very late for me... Just before I started building the Town Hall if I remember correctly. It will show it in due time I think, just continue playing as normal :)
  • Hahaha I think we will be finding ourselves blaming whacking day for everything for now on. As well we should.
  • Thank you all for your answers. I hope that this quest will eventually pop up in next few levels. At the moment I am doing "Miranda Rights pt. 4", and hopefully I will reach level 18 tomorrow. Without "King Toots" related quests, progress is slower, but at least I have a lot of money.

    Best regards,

Just make sure you keep enough cash for when it's time to build. :)

Thanks, I will, as I am spending money mostly for quest buildings, so at the moment I have more money then I ever had and I am ready to build two or three buildings immediately if quest pops-up. Of course, if rumored "Squidport" update comes in next weeks, I will make those buildings priority.
