The year after the first turkey which we were awarded as an NPC, they had a darker version for game play so you wouldn't confuse it with the one from the year before, looked like the other but "slightly" different. I would have liked to have one of those, too. And yes, I 'd love a bunch of turkeys for my town. I'm weird like that.

How do you define "rare" in a game with virtual items?

An item that is owned by the fewest amount of people?
An item that was once briefly offered (and bought by many many people) but hasn't been offered again recently?
etc.

I wonder which items, if any now, have never been re-released.

I didn't realise that these were limited items until I fruitlessly scoured the store trying to buy some more.

The Stomach Staple Center hasn't been offered since that one time on Thanksgiving Day in 2014.

When in doubt do a quick search to find the wiki page for the item to see if it was limited etc.

I'm guessing the rarest item I have is the NPC Turkey that could be won the Thanksgiving 2013 event, which to the best of my knowledge has not been offered since.

The rarest items would probably be premium, limited time content from the early days, assuming there is premium content from back then that has not come back at least once. More recent premium content is going to be a lot more common as it's way easier to get donuts nowadays.

I have some of those beach towel and umbrella's in my town. I never really thought about it, but is kind of strange they've not brought those back.
