I've got the same problem. I haven't been able to play the game for over 24 hrs. The program (successfully?) checks for updates, then prompts 'tap to continue', but then Bart pops up saying 'cannot...

It is to do with the Origin server. If you want to allow friends to access their towns on their iPads or iPods, you can downloaded Monopoly in the App Store and log out of Origin that way. It doesn't help you, but it does help folks who let you access their kit.
I don't want donuts, I just want my game back...please, please, please tell us what is happening EA. surely they must be aware and could post somehting somewhere.
