I did this too, wrong leprechaun. It the one that comes with the wishing well that you have to tap 10 times.
I was tapping the one that came with the Shamrock Cafe and although he was giving XP and money like the other one, it didn't count toward the task. After tapping him about 8 times he just up and disappeared, can't find him anywhere. Found Freedom though, haven't seen him in a week. I was also surprised how many animals are roaming free, might need a zoo soon.
Oh just found him! Behind Judge Synder! Can't understand him though, anybody speak Leprechaun?
