I'm feeling a bit lost here. Started out fine, but now it seems to have stalled with no quests other than find the gem with the shovels. But I don't have any more shovels. Game says I need Mom and Pops Hardware to get more shovels, but how do you get that building?

Which menu? It's not in the store or anywhere else that I have found...

Was in the store, general section.

Use 'em when you get 'em or wait till you have bunch if like but you can't save up more than 199.

for the first time I've decided to do nothing more in my town till tomorrow when we have more of a strategy working. I always finish with time to spare anyway but I'm a tad confused on all of this.

There is a lot of stuff thrown at you at once, for sure. It took me a little while to comprehend everything.
