Sideshow You was "broken" on purpose.

I never go to my Krustyland, since there's nothing to do -- nothing to build. I don't see the purpose. I can go and collect Tickets, but for what? A small update that *might* happen in several months?

(Voted I only go when there is/are quest)

    And so, I ask...

Do you still go to Krustyland?

Where did you get that information? It seems suspect to me...
  • I go every day, specifically to go to Sideshow You. After all, keep it up and it's some free donuts. :)
  • I doubt it was broken on purpose to gage how much players like KL. But I could be wrong, just ask my wife!

That being said, KL is irrelevant to me. I don't like it, I don't care for it, and I think it's a waste of both development resources and bits of memory on my iPad. I have it built to five stars, but just barely. I have like 130k tickets. I've gone to my KL just once since the x-mas event started just to see what it looked like in the snow. If EA removed KL tomorrow, I would say good riddance...
  • The only reason I go there is for the chance of donuts from side show you and collect any handshakes if there are any. I keep checking to see if it is fixed daily but so far, nada, still broken. If there was some benefit to krustyland for the main focus of the game springfield itself perhaps there would be more reason to do other stuff there. Of course there is the tickets to simpson money exchange you can do at the gate. But that could take awhile to do unless you collect everything all the time. I leave it all uncollected so friends can do taps there if they want to.
  • I used to go twice daily to play Sideshow You. Once in a blue moon I won the 5 donuts so I thought it was worth it. Now I visit occasionally to see whether SY has been fixed. Will probably visit less & less.
  • When you exchange tickets for cash, is it a direct 1:1 exchange? I ask because it takes much longer to save up tickets, so it doesn't seem fair for it to be a 1:1 exchange.

Actually, from what I've read, the donuts from Sideshow You aren't random... You get them every 300th balloon.

I'd say it's pure speculation and assumption. Very surprising for a high tech company to introduce a bug to collect metrics. Would be much easier for them to implement some type of logging where they could collect and analyze the data for all users, one that would gather all information that would be relevant. I'd be surprised if they didn't already do this and feed the data into their marketing and design teams for decision making purposes.

Anyways tstoaddicts already has a post up mentioning that a contact in EA let them know it was disabled on purpose to prevent other bugs in this event. The cannon/cave timer had issues on the first launch of this event, an update came very shortly after that disabled Sideshow You and fixed that issue. Those of us that rushed with donuts may have been the only ones that noticed the issue before the update came. Could be unrelated, but perhaps that was the quickest way to fix the issue with the cannon/cave.

  • Alright, I admit it, I broke it.
One day I was tapping and maybe that screen asked if I wanted to destroy sideshow you? I thought it said donuts people! My bad.

  • Still go daily. Collect tickets, pop balloons, design, etc., etc.

The fact they disabled it on purpose is laughable.
