I've already explained this. When you visit someone, you click on a building. The character associated with that building is the receiver of the card. So when you receive a card from Bart, that means your visitor tapped on the Treehouse.

Ok thisfar I understand, but. if there are no cards in your neigbours town , do you just click on the $ sign then?? IS it then wise to not collect anymore from buildings in your own town so that your friends have more options? or am I making a wrong turn here again?

If the people who are not visiting my towns were forum regulars? I would PM them and ask them WTF with not visiting? Is their game broken? Or can they not find any cards in my town?

Keep that in mind guys....they may not be able to find cards in your town to click on.

That last line is big.

I've received cards from you (thank you! :mrgreen: ) but there are times I cannot find any cards in other towns. I realize even when I find a card I may not get a heart (going 0 for 3 is sad :( ) and I realize some of my friends are new and only have so many buildings. I recognize that we are all new at one point, so I won't delete them as long as they are active.

But when I see all the townspeople just walking about (when it's been somewhat established that they should have jobs to get/give hearts) and there's never any cards in the town, it suggests the player isn't active. While that's fine for some updates (coins or friend bonus), it's not for this one.

I won't delete anyone just yet. Just yesterday I was finally able to visit all of my friends. The day before, I couldn't even get into the neighbors area without being booted! Therefore, before you delete, give people another day or two to ensure that their game is now stable and that they can visit friends.

OK Peter - I've been giving this some thought and your comments. I think it boils down to we don't really understand what you are saying because we see visual proof that a card can be clicked on from different neighbors without us collecting.

Did you see my comment about the observatory? I did not collect and there was just one character in it and yet I had three cards.

But...I do think you are right when it comes to hearts.

So a person comes to my town and they click on the observatory they get a heart and I don't collect it. Time goes by and the card regenerates so the next person can click on the observatory again....however....since I did not collect it then that second person does not get a heart.

Is that what you have determined?

It's the only way I can figure to explain the anomaly..

When I visit your town, I will not be able to click on the Observary, because there is no character associated to that building. You do have however characters that can go do a job in the Observatory.
If you get a situation where there is more than one card hovering over a building, wait untill the characters inside are finished with their jobs, and try to tap the thumbs up first (not easy). You will see the characters now out on the street with cards over their heads.
Another way to test is give all your characters outside jobs? This way there can be no confusion.
I have tried all there is to try (I'm just that way, I have to know). If you think some of my findings are wrong, you will have to test it yourself.

I collected all of the valentines in my town, an hour later I checked back and one of my brown houses had a handshake. I can only surmise that there were no cards available, so there may be some additional lag time for regeneration beyond the town owner collecting.

Wasn't me, I've got another 11 hours before I can visit you again. Some people posted that they click on a building to let the person know there were no cards available. I just go back later.

Or maybe the person was just too lazy to look around for a card?

Missyolga - I just visited your town and you gave me 3 hearts. There were cards everywhere for me to choose from, just letting you know.

Same here. I visited her town 1 or 2 hours ago, plenty of cards :mrgreen:
