Solved - why friends crash the game

Thanks for the head's up or observation. Think I'll check the daily friends feed *before* I go on my rounds this evening.

Nothing to do with it we are all grasping at straws for answers. I deleted ALL my friends and still cant get in to the town.

Ouch; your poor friends! And you too, of course. I just wish there were some way to communicate with our friends why we might be deleting them from inside the game. I had to delete two because their towns kept crashing my game, but I could not find one on this forum (even with his real name) & felt bad about removing him without an explanation.

Its the EA server and game. The entire game crashed this summer and wiped out 1000s of players work....ugh. :twisted:

I have a theory. OK! We know the towns are stored in origin not on the device. If the update is in fact causing the issues perhaps EA has to go in and correct it user by user or hundreds at a time. The ones that are working again might be higher on the list. Who knows how they decide.

I have heard 30 different solution's that have not worked. The last one said all I have to do is put down the first balloon and all is well. Well I fought like crazy wasting time and was able to put the balloon down and it still crashed in the exact same amount of time.

I am waiting for someone to come here and say that by standing on their head while playing the star spangled banner on a kazoo they fixed it.

I think the ones that have been saying all along that it is all a matter of time are correct.

The biggest suck of all is that someone from EA cant come in here and tell us what to do so we can stop wasting our time on BS futile efforts that dont work.

This is also unrelated, but is there a way to turn off notifications for those that have visited my Springfield, but keep it on for when characters are done doing their particular activity?

There is no issue getting to the origin screen the issue is getting into certain towns to play.


BTW I am pretty certain the push notices are all or nothing!

Luckily I have created a new Username after the mess and am playing on it just fine I am up to level 9 already. I got in touch with all of them through a different forum and they are all on my new name and town :-) :-)

I still want like heck to get to the old town as there was allot of great holloween stuff there that I hear earns you cash now. I hope it is not gone forever :cry:

How bout friends in different timezones? If that is the case, I'm definitely screwed because I'm in a totally different timezone from almost everybody on my friend list.

I seriously doubt that is the case because I have never had a problem with this game until this very update. I had 100 friends and I visit every single one of them every day. Never crashed, never lagged and never even had a single issue with my friends.

It is very frustrating because like many others, I tried a zillion things too, whatever it will take to make the game work. In another post, I mentioned that out of desperation, I kinda threw the towel in by creating a new Springfield from scratch. I could view my old Springfield by adding myself (so pathetic) and could see that my entire Springfield is still there, my characters just roaming around doing nothing. BUT I can't login because the damn game just freaking crashes on me. SIGH. :(

tried deletng 20 friends.. still no access...
sorry to those 20! 9 but you never logged in for over a month..so #@##@ you.

Right, I get it now. Well, my notifications are on so I know who visits me and won't that f-up the notification system as well?? I haven't seen anybody who has visited me twice in a day before (not that I noticed anyway). Most of my friends don't even have house farms.

O well, I won't rule it out but IMO it's a low possibility it would occur.
