Ask Rachel Jeantel if that word is derogatory- Cracker is the equal to "The 'N' word" when used by a non-white to reference a white person.
VERY derogatory and RACIST and has nothing to do with "poor white southerners". ("Poor white southerners" is just what the ones that use the term want you to believe it is all about while they laugh at you for believing it.)
