nother question for debate: given the Halloween episodes are non-canonical for look, do you have places for Bad Dream House, The Super-Collider, the Black Hole, the Cauldron and so on?
Given that Lard Lad Donuts made its debut in a Treehouse Of Horror episode and has appeared frequently since in regular episodes, I have integrated all hallowe'en buildings into my town, for example, my Super Collider fits neatly alongside Professor Frink's Lab.
I limit my OCD of design around being a huge fan of seasons 1-8, all things have to be as they are in the show (eg King Toot's has to be to the right of Moe's Tavern). When buildings appear post season 8, I don't really care where they are situated and am not particularly excited by them.
Makes sense, I have done the same thing with the Super-Collider, Frink's and the Volcano Lair. Got the Java Server in the same row to complete it.
Bad Dream House kills me since I love the look, but finding the "right" place for it in town is challenging. Maybe if EA did more old style buildings like the Masion Derri?re etc., we'd have a zone established for it.
Speaking for myself, given the map stops in '04, I do try and have my Springfield reflect what I last saw on the most recent episodes for placement. Swanky Fish is next to Mapple and Asia will probably join that block to continue the modernist look. Placed near Town Square since we figure walking distance for Homer, subject to change, of course.- A little bit of a bump to try and provoke some discussion this afternoon and morning. See what tonight's episode of The Simpsons and looking ahead to next week's tie-in will bring.
- Have not seem the preview, so going in blind. If nothing else, may give us some new ideas for the exterior of the Church.
- Where did the giant magnifying glass and the tower of paddlepop sticks come from? Are they actually from an episode? Im not sure if ill ever put them in my springfield because a) they're super expensive haha and b) i dont recall ever seeing an episode with either of them in it!

The magnifying glass, the Popsicle stick tower and the escalator to nowhere all show up at the end of Marge vs. The Monorail. The 2004 map, which you can locate via google or deviantart.com, have them located south of downtown, close to the river. I have yet to build them as getting to seven million is NOT easy, but would probably slot them at the bottom of my downtown, across the river from the future home of the Squidport, but your mileage may vary.lyle_catcliffe wrote:

I agree with you here...those first 8-10 seasons were the best. This is also why some of the new skins like Gorgeous Grandpa & Fruit Bat Man do nothing for me...I'd like more classic items, buildings & characters.TheKingChivas wrote:

Well, that's part of the reasonnI am looking forward to the summer, Halloween and Christmas seasons. The show is on break in the summer and has such a big history for Halloween and Christmas that it is unavoidable we will get classic Simpsons during that time fare. This is especially true if EA wants to stick to monthly updates between May and October when the show comes back.
I think we can have the best of both worlds, classic and current and that can be a very nice thing.- I have also been attempting to recreate the actual Springfield in the game, as much as that's possible anyway taking into account the random placement and movement of some locations depending on episode/season. I also only started playing the end of February, so missed the Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine stuff, as well as some of the episode specific stuff.
But alas, I'm trying my best. I blew a bunch of my tax return buying up the last few premium buildings/items/cars I needed (as well as using donuts for the few parts of the Whacking Day update I still needed), and am just completing missions to finish building the last few buildings in the progression. Looking forward to the next update with the oceanside/boardwalk content so I can continue expanding and building. mattperiolat wrote:

Ahh I just youtubed it and sure enough there they were! Thanks, I remember seeing them and thinking how random they were- Pardon the thread intrusion. Has any of you made a panorama of his/her "accurate" town? I tried for this for a bit, then gave up (shame), but would still love to see how one looks in-game.
