I think you may have something here - people often go with what is familiar to them! It would be interesting to see if this is reflected in the results!

I think of the mountains as the top of the map, so they'd be north.

Ive always thought of it as B

I've always looked at it as A.

I'm on the east coast, with no mountains nearby, so none of the options really fit my surroundings. A just feels right from a "looking at an isometric town" perspective.

I would have chose B if you didn't add C. Thanks for that.

Reference maps are usually drawn with north at the top. Without some valid reason otherwise, why would this be any different? I'm not arbitrarily moving north to the left or right of top-center. That doesn't make sense.

I put C as that is where I have my North Pole sign. Where I live there is sea both west and south. Mountains are to the north and west - and also to the south now I come to think of it. Although I live in the south west, today I traveled north to reach the south west. I live in the South West of Scotland so I went through the North West of England. :shock:
