I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but the order in which you select your players before a game seems to be the exact order in which they appear on the field. So, it does make sense to select them in a strategic order.
The first idea that came to my mind was that it seems helpful to pair players of different levels with each other in order to make use of the switch button during the game.
For example: Let's say you have - like me - two 2-star players and two 1-star players. Don't select them in the order 2-2-1-1! Since the players appear in pairs of two on the field they would appear as 2-2 and 1-1, so the switch button becomes basically useless. It's way better to select them in a 2-1-2-1 or a 1-2-1-2 order.
And being able to switch can actually be quite helpful. Let's say you have a 2-1 pair on the field, but your opponent has a 3-1.5 star pair. Playing in this order you would lose both rounds, but if you switch your pair to 1-2, you can actually secure at least one point.
Don't know if that makes any sense (please point out any mistake if you find one ;-) ), but as a rule of thumb it certainly seems to make sense to pay attention to the order in which you select your player, so that you can react more flexibly to the strength of your opponent. ;-)
Makes sense to me. Thanks for the strategy
