Taxes on imaginary food?

There two thing certain in life...taxes and death, then they tax you for dying, now how is that apple? Lol
  • not really.
There are taxes on digital sales. Are fair chunk of countries, inc in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, Africa, have consumpution (GST, VAT, Sales) taxes. They are applied in the relevant geo-coded location of the state of orgin (well that's at least my understanding of North American sales taxes). Most of these countries tax non-food stuffes.

Speaking of sales of donuts and Government the ACCC (consumer watchdog) in Australia is apparently looking into this game as part of a crackdown on free to play games with in app purchases. Tapped out got a specific mention in the ABC (national broadcaster) article.
