Mine hangs for up to 20 seconds between each neighbour then when you do get there they are spawning the wrong item for you so you have to move on to the next one waiting again whilst the game sticks. After a while the game crashes and of course I forget which was the last neighbour I tried so have to start again. Last night took me 2 hours to get to everyone. I can't spend that much time every day so I guess my neighbour are going to miss out. I do however try to get to all those who drop me those purple monsters and drop some back.
Try to think of it like this:
1. Halloween IS about visiting your neighbors. Just imagine you're walking around a virtual neighborhood, trick or treating
2. The long load times are because of the extra decorations up for Halloween. They take a minute.
3. It's really about the exchange of formless terrors. Which you can exchange as many as you have, there's no limits on them.
4. The three taps that we typically get, are just a little extra to supplement what you collect in your own SF, and its OK if they don't match. Collect them and save them and move on. They'll get used.

yeah but halloween in real life is one night. I can't spend every evening for the next month doing the equivalent of roaming the streets for several hours.- Yup.. Even in the office where I have about the highest speed internet connection one can get it's very *very* slow... Crazy stuff.
Hen has the right idea.. Drop the blobs and move on.
This need to get fixed. - Annette!!
I was literally thinking today "where the hell is Annette these days?"
You've changed your name you sneakster! - During events like this, try to think of it more you are helping your neighbors by dropping off the purple guys. Aren't you thrilled to see that one of your neighbors took the time to drop them off in your town? And they get rewarded in turn as well. These events are all about your neighbors.

Lol i was thinking I'd love a month of Halloween! But no, focus on the blobs being what you do with neighbors right now, not the three-tap-routine.
Example: I'm not doing a full run through of friends like i typically do, once per day, all in a row.
Instead, i go when I've accumulated at least 25 blobs. I go through 5 friends and give about 5 each. If i see collectable critters, I get them quickly or just move on. When i run out of blobs i stop.
Collect another 25 and THEN go back to do the next block of 5 friends. And repeat that with each new batch of blobs.
So much easier! Try it that way? - The "three taps" critters are few and far between. Many of my neighbors have none to collect and the others are way harder to find than any previous event I can recall. Combined with the slow load times, neighbor visits are rather painful.
- I'll admit I'm still honing my neighbor routine. Right now, I'm visiting most all of my neighbors. If they have the current campfire upgrade nightmare I search the town. If it's anything else, I make a cursory look about the town. Especially with the snakes, if I find 1 or 2 great if not I'm moving on. I then drop a couple of blob in the town more or less depending on how many they need.
I currently have quite a few blob I'm saving to pass to neighbors who pass to me. If I'm playing and see that they've just dropped monsters, I'll jump to their town and dump 6-7 figuring they're around and will most likely tap them. I've had a couple of neighbors where we've made 2-3 cycles that way. - but it's the lag in loading and the constant crashing that takes the time nit searching for things to tap. Even just dropping off purple blobs took me two hours. Sorry I just haven't the time.
