Yup, that's why I posted the link. It's a thing. It's a change to the game this update. It's everybody's game. It might be annoying, but not cause for alarm.
(It's under May 28, though, right above May 27.)
That list is wrong, though. Sound clips (at least character ones) still play over one another. They cut off when you scroll the map away from the area where the source is located.
