First off - I'm not suggesting that EA shouldn't hear negative feedback from customers. There were a lot of flaws with the event, and it's worth finding a venue to let them know. But if I'm a new prospective player, and I read this feedback I wont play it, because it sounds like the worst game ever.
But its a great game. IMO, one of the best city building games ever, or you we wouldnt be posting here and so passionate about it. Sure, if you spent money on eggs you are effectively gambling within the in-game event- but the game itself is a city building game, not a gambling game. Your issue is not with the game - but with the in-game events. And primarily because EA didnt manage your expectations. It's different then previous in-game events. Your preference is for earn based, vs. chance events to win items for...building your city. Nothing wrong with that opinion - and one I agree with. But does a 3 week event ruin the game?
But again, if people stop playing, or new people dont start, then EA will just stop releasing content and the game will be over. I didnt love this event, but I'd be sad if the game was gone tomorrow. Not because I'd miss tapping bunnies (I was sick of tapping ghosts, giving gifts, cards, etc by the end of every event) - but I'd miss the core purpose of this game - building my city. That's what the this game is supposed to be. Anything else (events) are just a bonus.
To me, if the events were always like this (from day 1) it wouldnt have changed the addictive reasons I play and enjoy it. My expectations would just have been different. So if you like city building, and want to see new level updates, and want to play more events - then rating the game a 1 probably doesnt make sense. If you hate the game, and have no intention to continue playing, then 1 star is justified. But then, what we doing here discussing it?
