Well Mother’s Day was only 2 days ago
If you're American it was, but not for us Brits. I don't know why we can't all celebrate those days on the same day.
It's because our 'Mothers day' is actually Mothering Sunday when traditionally servants were given the day off on the fourth Sunday in Lent to visit their home church and family. Mother's Day is an American concept based around shopping!
NO, absolutely not! While this day, along with so many other holidays, may have devolved somewhat into a commercial event, its origin dates back to the American Civil War and is associated with peaceful reunions of families torn apart by war.
