unsolicited freind requests?

I rarely get any requests.....guess I'm the only one that is never bothered. Not to say I'm against it. I'm always happy to accept requests. As long as its a daily player that likes to 'design' as I do.

I have wonderful neighbors, the best. My husband has awful neighbors, the worst. I recently suggested some of my great neighbors to him, so he might be the random requester.

uhm, if you're one of my great neighbors, he's Applecross.

hmm, that is an interesting way to reply and made me think. And to clarify I went from one or 2 here and there to many a day. Could this be some sort of scam? And if it were, what could possibly be the endgame? You know like those random FB requests we all get and you know it's not a real person. Someone else said in this thread they looked up the names and none were on the forum but one. Another person here said it could just be random typing in names, but if so why are so many people now just randomly typing in and coming up with names of people that just happen to be on the forum? I wonder if any other ea games have a similar thread to this?

John, your name is the first one they see when they go to the add-me thread. And I'm right up there with you. Some of the requests are from secondary and tertiary towns. Most, I'm convinced, are current neighbors who want a good neighbor for their other towns.

For my main town, I will add them, go there immediately and look at what they have. If they are too new, I will unfriendly them, but add them to my crawl towns. I know how exasperating it is to have really high level towns as neighbors, seeing all they have and not being able to keep up. If they are premium towns and seem to have everything possible, I tend not to add them. My experience is that they are less than kosher. Especially if they have things they shouldn't have.

True but this just started. My name has been there forever. At first I thought it had to do with the flu but others said it was happening to them as well. If their not on the forum though how are they reading the add me thread unless we have more lurkers than members. It's just a thought.

Again, I've been getting requests daily ever since I started posting back in November. Face it, we're local celebrities ;) , with you @johncolombo being one of the biggest ones. You're a mod and they want to look at your town. I bet @LPNintendoITA gets tons of requests because he too is very popular here. The newbies I have added are all playing. I see no malice in them asking to be neighbors.

They are probably just lurkers. There are usually more guests than people that are signed in. I'm not sure why they choose to try and add people randomly when there are plenty of people in the add me threads.

Look at the Crawl to the Finish thread....There are over 14,000 views. Never has there ever been that many people signed in on this forum. Just lurkers who peek in and randomly send requests to those of us who tend not to shut up on here ;)
