- If you upgrade first, the only change will be that you have some other items unlock in crafting menu, but all new Level 2 items require item material which is still not available (cocktail glasses).
On the other hand, if you craft first, you are earning Player Points and thus accessing rewards for Player Points Club, which are useful (more materials, currency etc).
So I decided to go with crafting first, have already crafted everything available on L1 and now slowly working on upgrade. - I ended up doing the same. You need far fewer craft items per craftable versus what you need to level up once, so get the crafting out of the way first then start banking to level up. It seems to me that I am accumulating mats for crafting faster than I thought I would, given the daily challenges, what my gamblers drop and the mats accumulated from Moe's. I'm not expecting to be at level two by this afternoon or anything. It will be a long slog, but better to focus on that after making what you can.
- I've also done the same. I've crafted everything I could and now collecting materials to level up.....seems like it's gonna take forever.
- I've got all the items. 2/10 for level 2. Log in every 4 hours and collect coins and tap gamblers.
Great event so far. - so would you first craft the max number of craftables that give club card points first before upgrading? What do the club card points give you?
- you can only craft a limited number to start anyway (4 walk of fame stars / 2 constant fountains /etc), so knock those out and get the club points (which in turn can give you more crafting supplies/etc). Then let the coasters/chains pile up and work on the level upgrades.
- OK I'll do that thanks. This is all very complicated!!

First post in this thread, bottom of the post, there are rewards for Players Club- i went the upgrading route because i haven't decided how to decorate my casino area and i don't like to craft items which i don't need
- I did the crafting first. I looked at what payed out the most players card points and crafted the max of those items first and then all the other level 1 items. Now I'm saving up to upgrade to level 2.
