Does anybody else's Otto wander around before going to buy imported "water pipes", because it is started it annoy me because it knocks the crafting out of sync.
Adding a road in front of the building reduces the amount of lag/wandering. Not 100%, but much better than without.
I have the exact same issue with Otto. Grandpa too. Takes 5-7 seconds for them to realize they have a task. Otto really throws the timing off with with the 30-second task. I added just one road square right in front of the shop, now there's just a 1-2 second lag.- AnnathewickedRising TravelerIt's annoying, yes.... but it's no big deal

Agreed - he likes to take a little walk to stretch his legs before going back to work.
Grandpa slacks a bit too empathy77 wrote:

I like to think the both get confused and wander off since you are interrupting them while they are celebrating.- The suggestions for letting them finish celebrating are on point. Just pause an extra second or two before putting Otto, Grandpa, or any others who may have this problem back to work. Once their arms go back down and they start to walk off you can put them to work and they will go directly back.
- 4junk3000New SpectatorNo I've not had this happen.
When the job is ready to collect, I tap the building (not the chair icon at upper left), they all celebrate.
Then while building task box is still open, I immediately tap start 6 times, they all resume immediately.
I've done this dozens of times today. In fact i sacrificed getting Barney to buy Otto just today. I've since realized he isn't that critical though. But the bus looks great in my HS parking lot so it's all good. jeremy85302 wrote:

You really don't even have to wait if you assign them last. By the time you put everyone else in the group on the task, Otto/Grandpa will be done with their animation and you can assign them. That's what I've been doing.- Right now my Springfield Heights is a disorganized mess.
One thing I have done, however, is move all the buildings with tasks into one tight group and put a single road tile between the Furniture Store and the Coffee Shop. This usually keeps Otto and Grandpa from wandering too far. - For me it helps when I send Otto to the task as the last character. When I send him first (als he is first on the list) he starts wandering around.
