What changed with the Mystery Box Upgrade and Easter 2015 updates?

With as many people as I've seen talking about getting multiple Lard Lads from the boxes, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the replacement item. Which, honestly, is a pretty good deal if that's true.

But I really don't know. Burns is busy, so I haven't gotten my freebie yet.

I got my weekly mystery box on Saturday(I believe) and got 30 donuts. Today I got the new mystery box today and got the news van for free. I then bought a mystery box and got 10 donuts. Not bad, lol.

Do some of the prizes require being above a certain level in the game. Or can anyone at any level get any and all of the prizes?
Have a friend who only recently started playing. Would like them to get some of these prizes, but don't want to convince them to buy donuts if they're only gonna get the minnow pond and the like over and over.

Wow, the new mystery box sounds promising. I am happy for most people, those are good prizes to have a chance to win. However, I already own Blue Haired Lawyer, and actually have 2 lard lards in my town already. I am not trying to make room for a third. I hope there is a different replacement prize available. For the first of the new mystery boxes I opened, I received an Itchy and Scratchy Billboard. I already have one of these as well, but not in Krustyland, so I was much happier to receive that than another Lard Lad.

In my sons town, I got Blue Haired lawyer in free box. Bought just one more and got 30 donuts ... Figured I'd use them for 5 more boxes. Got news van, Kearney, minnow pond, 10 donuts (aka "I'm gonna buy me a mystery box with those"), tire fire, 10 donuts. I stopped. It was like Vegas, except this time I didn't have to hitchhike home.

My Nighthawks town currentlly has, in its task list, quests going for Squeaky Voiced Teen, Kearney, AND Bluhaired Lawyer...(took screencaps .... ) Other than the donuts I won along the way, I purchased a dozen.

This was insane.

What's the "Surveys Are For Monkeys" task referred to in the update list all about? Googling doesn't bring up anything...
